BOWEN/BOWEN NST

Several interpretations of Tom Bowen’s original work are now being taught and practiced around the world.  Bowen Therapy, Fascial Kinetics, and NST ( Neurostructural Integration Technique) are among them. These are dynamic and skillful bodywork techniques involving a system of muscle and connective tissue therapy that alert the body's innate healing wisdom to return the body to its own perfect balance. The resulting reorganization of the musculature of the body can create lasting relief from pain and dysfunction as well as increased energy levels. The response can be profoundly effective and sometimes miraculous.
How Does It
Work?
Bowen is essentially a soft tissue therapy designed to release muscles and fascia in a way that is safe for all ages, neonates to elderly. Its main aim is to reintegrate the body as a whole and for this reason it is useful for a wide range of conditions.
Throughout the session the client experiences deep relaxation providing the body with a "window of opportunity" to reorganize itself through the activation of various neural reflexes.
The process is not limited to the presenting physical symptoms, but extends to emotional, cognitive and spiritual aspects of the individual. Bowen produces an integrated body response involving improved circulation, increased lymphatic drainage, elimination of toxins and help in assimilating nutrients.
This technique was developed by Australian Tom Bowen in the 1950's to the 1980's. He  became famous for helping people who had been to many other practitioners without significant relief. His work is now being taught worldwide.
What Can I
Expect?
Bowen can be done clothed or directly on the skin and consists of specific systematic sequences of cross fiber moves stimulating energy flow, interspersed with resting periods while the body is allowed time to respond.  Substantial relief is often experienced after only one session.  At times resolution has occurred within 3 sessions, but it depends on the length of time the problem has existed and the severity. In some cases even though a condition is not elevated periodic sessions can greatly reduce symptoms.  A session normally lasts about one hour and can be repeated in five to seven days.
